This was the first show I saw when lockdowns brought in by Covid started to ease. It was an outdoor concert in the grounds of Cardiff Castle.
It featured: Sophie Evans (Wicked, Wizard of Oz), Lucie Jones (Waitress, Rent and soon to be ‘Elphaba’ in Wicked), Caroline Sheen (Mary poppins, The Witches of Eastwick), David Thaxton (Phantom of Opera, Les Miserables), Gruffydd Wyn (Britain’s Got Talent) and there was also a local ‘choir’ made up of local performance schools.
This was a night at the Musicals and was a great return to being able to see live performance again.
All the songs you wanted to hear from this very talented cast were there: “She used to be mine”, “Somewhere over the rainbow”, “Don’t rain on my Parade”, “Delilah” (Yeah it is a Musical song, there’s a new show called “Waht’s New Pussycat” that mixes the music of our Tom Jones with the story of the other famous Tom Jones), “When i meet the Wizard” and “One Day More” and many many more.
